Always giving us that glazed over look in ridiculously chic ensembles – proving time and time again that ‘too cool’ for school does exist.

Coachella’s around the corner, which means, naturally, that I’m on the lookout for new garb. When it comes to music festivals, packing a ‘minimal fuss’ wardrobe is essential. The weekend should be about fun and friends – not about being in a frenzy over which shoes to wear with your overalls [yes, I said overalls ... I'm elated by their timely comeback].
My hunt landed me at Reformation: the brand you can’t help but love for the easy, breezy silhouettes and eco-friendly fabrics. Their Thug Life jacket had me at hello; modern military with the iconic phrase boldly tatted on the back. A jolt of sustainable sass, this piece is a keeper; rain or shine, festival or no festival, I will wear. Proudly.
Sometimes when I awake, my hair resembles something like a Hi-top – curly and wild, but a Hi-top nonetheless. This phenomenon, in turn, makes me wonder, what ever happened to the Hi-top? Why did it go out of style? Is it ever coming back? Most fashion trends from eras past often reemerge with a modern twist; so, imagine my surprise when I saw the pic above of the young man wearing the Cookie Monster tee and his larger than life ‘do. Playful and chic, his look harkens back to the late 80s/early 90s but with a new, youthful essence – one that may inspire a modest growing of the hair. Perhaps not quite as tall as Play but at least giving us Fresh Prince.

How/where can I procure them?
Solutions to this shoe lust quandary greatly appreciated.

The Rihanna x River Island Collection is here – feeding our healthy obsession with the über chic fashion icon and exacerbating the level of fixation that much more. Cheeky and bold, the pieces are surprisingly more wearable than not; separates, accessories and shoes for everyday that make a statement without exuding too much sex appeal. Her style is evident, from the bright hues and stripes to chunky emblems – Rih is in every stitch.
I bring you, below, my selects. Practical but never prudish:

Tokimonsta‘s voice puts me in the ultimate trance – a trance that makes me begrudge leaving my apartment for the real world. This is my jam for those restless nights when I’m trying to work, get focused or just center. #Play&Repeat
