As a woman with a predominantly black wardrobe [save a few patterned and colored pieces] I always find a struggle in this shift of season. Don’t get me wrong, I love a couple of months of spring and summer, but fall is really where I flourish and become one with fashion. Currently, the sun is beaming through my window, letting me know that today will be yet another day of no black and that I should cease internet perusing an extra 20 mins or so early to find something – anything – mildly lightweight and colorful to sling on my body. Despite my forced transition of ensembles, the question of Black vs Color always looms in the back of my head. I love walking around LA looking like fall in NY but the reasonable side in my brain says “Don’t do it, you’ll be overheated and sweating all day.” So I ask, when did practicality become the new black?
