my minimal romance :: rachel roy s/s 2012

(Hey everyone! This is Ominy of The DEFinitive and it gives me great pleasure to announce that the lovely Monique has invited me to be a guest blogger! I have known Monique for a few years now and have always admired her polished sense of style. I am beyond ecstatic at the opportunity to provide you all with my scoop on all things fly and fashionable.)

With the close of NYFW, I am sure that everyone’s head is still spinning at the all amazingness that was on display in the tents and at various presentations throughout the city. I have been so busy that I honestly haven’t found the time to sift through the million of shows online but I have made it a point to check out my top 5 fav lines at the very least. At the top of that list is Rachel Roy. I adore any and everything that is RR and it goes without saying that she is my absolute favorite designer. Her aesthetic is crisp and feminine with a slight edge, marketable to just about any around the way chica who loves fashion but not in such extreme that she takes herself too seriously.

This collection, inspired by colonial Vietnam in the 20′s and 30′s, with its genius mix of nudes, neon, and curvaceous linear florals gives me life. The flouncy, easy-breezy tailoring speaks directly to my California girl nature and if there were ever a time to seriously need a disposable budget, it would be now. Because my closet needs to house each and every one of these looks. Asap.
